Each Elite Instrument features automotive style LED backlighting compared to the antiquated perimeter lighting utilized throughout the marine industry.
When Elite Instruments are illuminated, light emits through the face of the instrument rather than from around the perimeter of the gauge.
The Elite Instruments master gauge is the heart of the Elite Instruments system. The master gauge features a 2 line digital LCD display which can display many different functions to include a digital read out of speed, fuel level, rate of consumption, odometer, hour meter, boost pressure, trim, temp, volt, water pressure and many other functions. Elite Instruments are multiplexed (digital communication by a single wire) and interface with all engine protocols, from SmartCraft and NMEA 2000 to J1939. Elite Instruments can also operate in an analog
(mechanical) application which makes Elite Instruments ideal for retrofits on carburated or EFI engines with the use of EMI's generic dash harness or boat harness. From OEM's to retrofits, Elite Instruments are easy to install with a "plug and play" system which makes them adaptable to any and all engine and sender configurations.
All critical engine and sender information is displayed on a graphical LCD on the master gauge. The Elite Instrument system performs diagnostics on itself each time the instruments are powered up as well as allowing the operator to perform a full spectrum of diagnostics on the engine and various senders in the system. For use with wiring harnesses: EMI also provides a "plug and play" wire harness designed exclusively for use with Elite Instruments. EMI offers a complete boat harness designed for use with outboard and I/O engines including Mercury SmartCraft which plugs in directly to Elite Instruments and includes the key switch as well as leads for the emergency shut off switch, neutral safety switch and fuel sender. EMI also offers a generic dash harness which can be used with all engine applications including retrofits.
